Gunmen have reportedly ambushed and kidnapped scores of Dangote Cement workers who were returning from work on Monday evening in the Okpella area of Edo State, News About Nigeria reports.

According to witnesses who spoke to newsmen, the gunmen shot several workers during the bloody attack, though it remains unclear how many people were wounded or the severity of their injuries as of Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Okpella Cement Plc, Michael Odofin, confirmed the attack and abduction of the company’s workers.

While he did not provide detailed information about the incident, he stated, “I cannot give any details right now, but our workers were attacked. The attack is still fresh. We have no reports of fatalities.”

Meanwhile, netizens are calling for a thorough investigation regarding the sudden demise of skit maker Chidike Emmanuel following reports that he was allegedly killed by suspected herdsmen in Abuja on Saturday.

The uproar began when netizen Loveline Imaobong raised an alarm, disclosing that the victim had been discovered lifeless in a mortuary.

She appealed for assistance in locating his family members, urging them to visit Mpape’s new police station in Berger Quarry.

Imabong further alleged that Chidi was among six individuals attacked by herdsmen, with his unfortunate demise occurring during the assault.

She said it was urgent to locate his relatives for further action.

However, another netizen, UrglyGramm, debunked Imabong’s claims, stating that Chidi had no family in Abuja.

He disputed the claim that Chidi’s family had already visited the police station, stating that their source revealed no family members had been present.

UrglyGramm called for assistance in reaching Chidi’s family in Lagos, as they do not know about his death.
