President Bola Tinubu To Stop Financial Leakages

An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe has expressed concern over the alleged exclusion of Igbos from the newly constituted transition committee, News About Nigeria reports.

The committee was constituted by President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The committee was set up to prepare and plan for the inauguration and swearing-in on May 29, 2023.

Tinubu submitted a 13-man list, in addition to earlier lists, to the outgoing Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

However, the list did not include any member from the Southeast region of Nigeria, which has raised eyebrows among Igbokwe and other concerned individuals.

According to reports, the committee members are predominantly from the South West and Northern regions of the country.

Igbokwe, who couldn’t believe the news, took to his Facebook page to express his concern and asked for someone to investigate the issue.

He wrote, “Please let someone help me investigate this: can it be true that Asiwaju Transition Committee was formed without any single Igbo on the list? I don’t want to believe it is true. May it not be true.

Igbokwe’s worry stems from the fact that the exclusion of the Southeast region may be detrimental to the unity of the country.

Meanwhile, the director of  Media and Publicity in the APC presidential campaign council, Bayo Onanuga has confirmed that Tinubu will be returning to Nigeria today, Monday.

Tinubu left Nigeria for France on March 21 shortly after the presidential election that saw him emerge as winner.

His campaign council said he went to take a rest and plan for his Inauguration.
