Zulu Adigwe: Nollywood Mourns Death Of Veteran Actor

Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry, mourns the loss of yet another prominent figure, as veteran actor Zulu Adigwe reportedly passed away on Tuesday evening.

The sad news was shared via an Instagram post by movie producer Stanley Nwoko.

“I regret to announce the passing of a veteran actor, late Mr. Zulu Adigwe. What caused his death is yet to be revealed. Rest in peace, good actor,” Nwoko wrote in his post.

Zulu Adigwe was renowned for his remarkable performances in numerous Nollywood movies, including “Living in Bondage”, “Breaking Free”, and several others.

His contributions to the industry earned him widespread recognition and respect.

Adigwe’s demise adds to the list of losses suffered by Nollywood in 2024.

Earlier in the year, the industry bid farewell to actors such as Amaechi Muonagor, Andy Best, Jumoke Aderounmu, Sisi Quadri, Mr. Ibu, and Junior Pope.

In April, Junior Pope, along with four others, drowned after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie shoot.

Amaechi Muonagor passed away at the age of 62 after battling a prolonged illness in March.

Muonagor succumbed to complications arising from kidney failure, for which he had been undergoing dialysis treatments.

The news of his demise comes as a shock, particularly in the wake of a recent viral video where he appealed for funds to undergo a kidney transplant.

Yoruba actor Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, passed away on March 1.

Nollywood actress Abiola Bayo took to her verified Instagram handle to express her condolences, stating, “You will be greatly missed, Sisi Quadri. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”
