Nollywood Actor Amaechi Muonagor Seeks Financial Aid For Kidney Transplant Surgery

Veteran Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor is in urgent need of financial support to undergo a kidney transplant procedure in India, according to fellow actor Kingsley Orji.

Orji took to his Instagram account on Sunday to appeal for assistance on behalf of Muonagor, who has recently been discharged from the hospital due to financial constraints.

Muonagor’s health struggles have reportedly affected his speech and overall well-being.

Speaking in both Igbo and English, Orji shared, “It has not been easy. He has been in this condition for months now. He wants to go for a kidney transplant. What we want is for you to help us for him to travel to India. He just came back from the ICU in Nnewi Teaching Hospital a couple of days ago. He was responding to treatment but not very well. We decided to bring him home because there was no money but it is not advisable. He barely talks well. Please, he needs your help.”

While the exact amount required for the transplant surgery was not disclosed, Orji provided Muonagor’s bank details and contact information for those willing to contribute.

In November 2023, Tony Muonagor, Amaechi’s cousin, revealed that the actor was battling kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

Muonagor’s health deteriorated, leading to regular dialysis sessions and physiotherapy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra.

Muonagor’s appeal for financial aid has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers in the Nollywood community and beyond, with many rallying to assist the veteran actor in his time of need.
