Support Your Leaders – Ex-President Buhari Tasks Nigerians

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to stand behind their leaders as the country’s democracy reaches a crucial point.

He made this appeal while speaking to reporters in Daura after participating in the Eid prayer on Wednesday, News About Nigeria reports.

Buhari extended his congratulations to fellow Muslims for completing the 30-day Ramadan fasting period and celebrating Eid.

In his address, Buhari said there is a need to support leaders at all levels, from local government to the national level, in their efforts to advance the nation’s development.

He stressed that backing leaders is key to building a brighter future for Nigeria and urged unity in protecting the country’s sovereignty and integrity.

Furthermore, Buhari urged political candidates to ensure smooth transitions between administrations without inciting tensions or hindering progress, regardless of their party affiliations.

He said, “Support for our leaders. It is a vote for a better tomorrow.

“It is imperative that we stand united in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of our nation.”

The former Nigerian leader also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received from the people of Daura, his hometown, and the state.

Buhari expressed his joy at reconnecting with his community following the end of his presidency.

Eid-el-Fitr, the Muslim festival marking the end of Ramadan fasting, symbolises a time of celebration and sharing. On this day, prayers are held in mosques, and people exchange greetings and gifts.

The federal government had recently announced Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays, with Thursday being added later due to the confirmation that Eid-el-Fitr would not happen on Tuesday but Wednesday.
