Buhari Responsible For Nigeria's Situation - Oshiomhole

The Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that former President Muhammadu Buhari is responsible for the current situation of the country, News About Nigeria reports.

The Senator stated this while speaking on Channels Television on Sunday.

He noted that the economic hardship the citizens of the country are currently facing is a result of the poor and unwise policies that were put in place by the immediate past president.

According to him, Nigerians are currently suffering from the reckless policies of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He maintained that he had stood against some of the policies Buhari laid down before he left office, stating that those policies were designed to dehumanise the population that was already in pain.

He added that the policies were against what Buhari had promised Nigerians when he got into power, adding that he is glad some of the other politicians also dissociated themselves from those reckless policies.

“There were governors who approached the court to denounce some of those policies. It is the long-term consequences of those policies that we are still grappling with now,” he said.

Oshiomhole further cautioned Nigerians against holding President Bola Tinubu responsible for whatever decisions were embarked upon by the previous government, maintaining that the current hardship being witnessed under the current administration were the long-term consequences of those policies of Buhari’s administration.

“Yes, it is our party platform. Like Tinubu also said, he was not a minister or adviser. He never took a contract in that government and he cannot be held responsible for what the government did right or wrong,” Oshiomhole added.
