In a post shared on Thursday afternoon, he fondly remembered Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji and honored her remarkable qualities.

Reflecting on this significant day, President Tinubu highlighted his mother’s love, determination, dedication, and benevolence.

He expressed deep appreciation for the time they spent together and the invaluable life lessons she imparted.

The President holds dear the values of hard work, honesty, and perseverance that his mother instilled in him, shaping him into the person he is today.

The commemorative post conveyed a sense of reverence and gratitude towards Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, emphasizing her influential role in President Tinubu’s life.

The tribute offered an insight into the personal connection between the President and his late mother, highlighting her profound impact on his character and outlook.

President Tinubu concluded his tribute with a prayer for his mother’s soul, expressing the hope that Allah continues to grant her eternal rest.

Born on October 16, 1916, in Lagos, Southern Nigeria, Abibatu Mogaji played significant roles in Nigerian society. Her granddaughter, Folashade, succeeded her as the Ìyál’ọ́jà of Lagos.

Before her appointment as the Iyaloja of the Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, Chief Mogaji held a prominent position as the vocal leader of the market women’s association in Lagos State.

She succeeded Alimotu Pelewura, a highly influential figure in the same role.

She passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the age of 96. Her home in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos State, served as the location of her passing.

She was laid to rest at Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens in Lagos State, marking the end of an era for a woman who left an indelible mark on Nigerian society.
