Israel Adesanya, the UFC middleweight Champion, has declared that his financial assets are well protected, similar to the situation of Paris Saint-Germain forward Achraf Hakimi, News About Nigeria reports.
This statement comes in the midst of a potential court case with his ex-girlfriend, Charlotte Powdrell, who is demanding a portion of Adesanya’s assets.
Powdrell threatened the Nigerian-born fighter after they broke up, having stayed together for several years.
She is insisting that Adesanya must compensate her for spending several years of her life with him, even though they were never married nor had kids together.
In a series of posts on Instagram, Adesanya condemned Powdrell’s move, saying she wants to reap where she did not sow.
However, in a recent post on his Instagram story, Adesanya likened his case with Powdrell to that of Achraf Hakimi and his ex-wife Hiba Abouk.
He said his assets are protected just like Hakimis’
“Very relatable… Imagine being so fu*ken entitled that you think you deserve what a man has worked his whole life for,” Adesanya said in an Instagram story (as quoted by Essentially Sports).
“When you came into his life with nothing and tried to leave with millions. But like Achraf Hakimi, my assets are protected. I would’ve taken half her sh*t too but I don’t want half of Nothing,” he said.
Recall that Abouk was earlier told during a court hearing that her husband had transferred all his wealth to his mother, meaning Abouk would not be entitled to any of the footballer’s fortunes should she continue with her divorce case.
Though the case is still in court and Abouk in a recent post has blistered some reassuring belief that everything will work in her favour
