The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has responded to reports suggesting their full participation in the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Bola Tinubu.

News About Nigeria reports that the pan-Igbo group vehemently denied these claims and discredited the source of the report, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who is identified as a meddlesome interloper using the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for personal interests.

Dr Alex Ogbonnia, the national publicity secretary of Ohanaeze, emphasized that the group does not engage in partisan politics and respects the political choices of individuals or groups.

However, implicating Ohanaeze Ndigbo in personal pecuniary interests is seen as unethical and criminal.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, under the leadership of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, clarified that they did not issue any statement regarding Tinubu‘s inauguration.

The group believes that their sacred identity should not be tarnished by the actions of uninitiated individuals seeking personal gains.

They urged the public to disregard any press releases not originating from Ambassador Emuchay, the recognized secretary of Ohanaeze.

It is important to note that a court order obtained on March 10, 2023, restrained individuals such as Chidi Ibe, Prince Richard Ozobu, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and others from claiming to represent Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Ohanaeze emphasized that no person has the authority to issue statements on behalf of the organization without proper consultations or consensus.

Those who engage in such behavior are deemed ignorant of the consequences they bring upon themselves and the Igbo nation.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide continues to advocate for the preservation of the Igbo cultural heritage and reminds everyone that deviating from the principles and values of the organization carries grave repercussions.

The group’s primary objective is to foster unity among the Igbo people and protect their interests on both regional and national levels.
