Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), expressed his belief that Nigeria can experience positive transformation under the leadership of President-elect Bola Tinubu, with the assistance of God.
News About Nigeria reports that this statement is coming months after the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) clarified that Adeboye, will not publicly support any presidential candidate.
The RCCG issued a statement in response to online reports suggesting that Adeboye had met with Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and was supportive of his bid for the presidency.
The reports also falsely claimed that Adeboye did not oppose the idea of a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the APC.
The RCCG vehemently denied these allegations, asserting that they were completely untrue.
In a tweet accompanying the statement, the RCCG reiterated that there had been no meeting between Adeboye and Tinubu concerning the latter’s presidential aspirations.
However during the monthly thanksgiving service held at the RCCG Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, on Sunday, May 7, Pastor Adeboye, who was represented by his Special Assistant Pastor Dele Balogun, encouraged Tinubu to fulfill the aspirations of Nigerians by ushering in a new era for the nation.
Adeboye emphasized the importance of praying for the incoming government, requesting divine support and guidance for Tinubu and his administration.
He expressed gratitude that the President-elect had pledged to address the issues in Nigeria, and he expressed his optimism that with God’s intervention, the country would flourish under Tinubu’s leadership.
On May 29, Tinubu is set to be inaugurated as Nigeria’s next President.
