The Kaduna State Government announced that several bandits were killed in a coordinated military operation in the Bula community within the Yadi Forest of Giwa Local Government Area, News About Nigeria reports.

The state Commissioner overseeing Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made the announcement in a statement released on Friday.

Aruwan reported that the operation, which involved coordinated ground and air strikes by troops of Operation Whirl Punch, successfully neutralised several bandits, including Alhaji Kachalla Ragas, an associate of the notorious terrorist Buhari Yadi.

“The operation was based on credible intelligence following the recent elimination of some bandit kingpins along the Kaduna-Katsina border areas,” Aruwan stated.

He noted that the intelligence report revealed that bandits were planning to converge in the Yadi Forest area for a meeting to discuss a deadly mission.

“Close monitoring followed, and at the agreed time, the bandits were sighted bearing arms and approaching the location on motorcycles. Further exploration confirmed the movements and convergence of the bandits, numbering about seven to ten members, at a hub in the location,” he added.

Upon verification, the military struck the location, resulting in the deaths of several bandits, including Alhaji Kachalla Ragas, a childhood friend of the previously neutralised Buharin Yadi.

Governor Uba Sani expressed his satisfaction with the operation and commended the security forces for their swift response and precise execution.

“The governor thanked the various sources who provided crucial intelligence leading to the successful strike,” Aruwan said.

The commissioner also encouraged citizens to continue providing useful information on suspicious movements to the state’s Security Operations Room via the phone lines 09034000060 and 08170189999.
