Mohbad: Family Legally Requests DNA Test On Late Singer’s Son

The Lagos State Police Command has explained why there seems to be a delay in the probe of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad’s death, News About Nigeria reports.

The state police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, while speaking with newsmen on Thursday, said that one of the reasons why the command was yet to release its report was because it was yet to receive the report of the autopsy which was conducted on the late singer from the pathologists in charge.

He stated this while reacting to the claim of a civil society organisation, the Take It Back Movement, that it was deliberately prolonging the investigations.

According to the organisation, the longer the probe is delayed, the higher the chance there is of exposing the late singer’s wife and son to several attacks like cyberbullying, cyberstalking, organised malicious campaigns against their persons, and even physical harassment, adding that this was the same fate Mohbad suffered while he was alive.

Hundeyin noted that his department will not carry out guesswork on the death of the singer, but will take its time to carry out thorough investigations and ensure that the right culprits are brought to book.

Recall that the death of the singer on September 12 sparked controversies in Nigeria and beyond, which prompted the police to set up an investigative team to determine what led to the singer’s demise.

In November, however, the Lagos police said the autopsy report for Mohbad, conducted months ago, had not been given to them.
