Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued a pregnant woman from the hands of kidnappers in the state, News About Nigeria reports.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this to newsmen in the state on Thursday, stating that the pregnant woman, whose name was withheld for security reasons, was abducted at a community in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
She stated that the incident occurred around 11:05 pm on Monday, Christmas Day, when some gunmen had attacked the couple while they were sitting in front of their house, kidnapping the pregnant wife and leaving the husband behind.
She noted that according to the report of the husband, the gunmen, six in total, had come out of the bush in front of their house and kidnapped his wife.
After an alarm was raised by the husband, a team of policemen was dispatched to the scene, and on getting to the scene, they saw the husband, but the wife had already been kidnapped.
She further noted that after a thorough search in the bushes for hours, the pregnant woman was found and rescued on Tuesday, adding that the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and is doing fine now.
She commended the efforts of the DPO, his men, operatives of the So-Safe Corps, Amotekun and others in ensuring that the woman was found, adding that she is happy for the collaboration that exists between the various security outfits in the state.
