House Of Rep Commends Military's Bravery, Seeks Support For Armed Forces

The Nigerian Army has stated that it will begin the process to address the insecurity in the country, News About Nigeria reports.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Nwachukwu Onyema, made this known in a statement, noting that ways to achieve this will be discussed extensively at the Chief of Army Staff’s conference scheduled to take place in Maiduguri between December 10 and 16.

According to him, the Nigerian Army would be carrying out an extensive evaluation and review of the operational engagements currently going on in the theatres of operations across the six geopolitical zones.

He noted that the evaluation was important as it would provide the army with the opportunity to come up with lasting solutions to put an end to the issue of insecurity plaguing the country.

Stressing the importance of the week-long conference, Onyema stated that it was a significant event projected to aid national security, peace, and stability.

He added that the event would also provide the opportunity for the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, to have impactful and meaningful meetings with the commanders and senior officers, providing them with the necessary guidance needed to enhance the operations and activities of the Nigerian Army.

The event, which will have the presence of President Bola Tinubu as a special guest of honour, will, according to Onyema, feature an address to troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai inspection of the ongoing Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Maiduguri and the laying of the foundation stone of Headquarters 7 Division by the Special Guest of Honour.
