Suspects Of Murdered OAU Student Arrested In Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspects over the death of Quadri Salami, a 100-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, News About Nigeria reports.

The command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, shared this in a statement on Wednesday, stating that the mystery behind the disappearance of Quadri has been unravelled.

Odutola revealed that the police force had on Wednesday gotten a head start on the case, stating that the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, with a team of Tactical Squad, located the shallow grave where the deceased had been buried in the Ajebo area of Abeokuta.

The body of the deceased was exhumed and Akeem was arrested alongside his accomplice, Ifadowo Niyi.

The police public relations officer also noted that Akeem had confessed to committing the crime together with Ifadowo, adding that they had slaughtered the victims and dismembered his vital parts for ritual purposes.

He disclosed that Ifadowo had made away with the head and both wrists of the victim and paid the sum of N100,000 (one hundred thousand Naira) to Akeem Usman after the sale of the human body parts.

He, however, noted that the suspects were now being held in Eleweran at SCID for the continuation of discreet investigations, adding that they would be prosecuted and punished accordingly.

Quadri’s father had earlier on, on November 14, reported at the Kenta Police station, about the sudden disappearance of his son, whom he lamented he had not seen since November 8 and all efforts to locate him proved abortive.
