Celebrity fashion stylist, Toyin Lawani, has issued a warning to young girls who are living fake lives on social media, News About Nigeria reports.

Her message comes on the heels of a shocking confession made by a Lagos socialite named Benjamin Best, also known as Killaboigram.

Killaboi took to social media on Monday to confess to killing his girlfriend, simply identified as Austa_XXO on Instagram.

According to him, he stabbed his lover shortly after they engaged in a heated argument

He also expressed his battle with suicidal thoughts since the incident and his decision to come forward with the truth.

Reacting to this disturbing news, Toyin Lawani took to her Instagram page on Monday evening to express her concerns.

She addressed the trend among young girls who strive to live a fast and extravagant lifestyle, constantly traveling, changing locations, wearing designer clothes, and seeking validation on social media.

She wrote:

“Too many young girls out there are trying to beat the fast lane, traveling, living a jet-set lifestyle, moving from city to city, and constantly changing locations. They indulge in the ‘wearing designers syndrome’ just to show off on Instagram. But at what age? They spend their nights clubbing and following Yahoo boys, all while shouting ‘periodt’ up and down. Your eyes will soon clear, and you’ll see how they are cutting your destiny short.

“God, this fake lifestyle syndrome is getting out of hand. Parents, pull your children’s ears and guide their path. This is enough, for God’s sake. All this can be for at the bare minimum.

Dear parents, this is getting out of hand. Please pay attention to your children. Teach them the right path. Sometimes, too much freedom can cause so much harm. Yes, we all want our kids to be lit and have the ‘it’ factor, but at what cost? Nowadays, all these kids are dangerously exhibiting their youthful exuberance, all for the sake of imitating an international fake lifestyle.”
