The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has recently married a new queen named Olori Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda, News About Nigeria reports.
The palace has sent out invitations to relatives and important individuals for the wedding thanksgiving service and reception, which will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Before the main event, there will be a traditional entrance of the Queen into the historic and revered Ife Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife.
This wedding thanksgiving comes a few months after the Yoruba monarch married his sixth wife, Princess Temitope Adesegun, in a ceremony held at the MRA community hall in Lagos State.
It is worth mentioning that the Ooni of Ife has previously separated from two of his wives, Olori Zainab and Olori Naomi, at different times.
However, the focus is now on the new Queen, Opeoluwa Elizabeth, who will be warmly received by the royal guards, palace chiefs, and staff representing the Yoruba monarch during the ceremony.
The wedding festivities symbolize the union between the Ooni of Ife and his new queen, marking a significant milestone in their relationship.
The occasion will be attended by esteemed guests, relatives, and well-wishers who have been invited to share in the joyous celebration.
This event is not only a personal affair for the Ooni of Ife but also holds cultural and traditional significance.
The entrance of the Queen into the Ife Oodua Palace is a deeply rooted custom that honors the history and heritage of the Yoruba people.
The wedding thanksgiving service will be a momentous occasion filled with prayers, blessings, and expressions of gratitude.
It serves as an opportunity for the couple to seek divine blessings for their union and to show appreciation for the love and support they have received from their families and the community.
