Ooni Of Ife, Wife Name Twins Eight Days After Birth

Eight days after the birth of their twins, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his third wife, Olori Tobi Phillips, have officially named their newborns, News About Nigeria reports.

In a ceremony captured in a video shared by Kemi Ashefon via Instagram on Saturday, Olori Phillips announced the names of the twins.

The girl twin, Taiwo, was named Adesewa, Oreade, Oluwatamilore, Ejide Ogunwusi, while the boy twin, Kehinde, was christened Adeshina, Oreade, Ejide, Oluwasemilore Ogunwusi.

The announcement of the twins’ names comes after the Ooni had earlier shared the news of their birth on his Instagram page last week.

The twins are the Ooni’s first children with his third wife, a former beauty queen.

In May 2023, Olori Tobi responded to critics who have been trolling her for not speaking Yoruba in her videos.

The former beauty queen took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself fluently speaking Yoruba during an interview with BBC Yoruba.

The Queen explained in her caption that although Yoruba may not be her default language, whenever she does speak it, she ensures that she does so with the correct tone.

This response came after she faced severe criticism on social media for not using Yoruba in her videos.

“Good morning fam, I hope your day is off to a great start. This is for those who have been trying to troll me about speaking Yoruba in my previous videos.

“I may not speak Yoruba as my default language, but best believe that whenever I do, I make sure to speak it with the right tone,” she wrote.
