On Friday, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) issued a fresh invite to the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, and the General Secretary, Emma Ugboaja.
In the invitation, the police asked the two of them to appear at the Force Headquarters on September 5, 2024.
According to the invitation, which was issued by the Force Intelligence Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, Force Headquarters, both Ajaero and the NLC General Secretary are to answer questions over alleged criminal intimidation, conducts likely to cause a breach of the public peace, and malicious damage to properties.
News About Nigeria reports that the fresh summon is coming less than 24 hours after Joe Ajaero honoured the Police’s first invitation over alleged criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.
Recall that, on Thursday money, the NLC President honoured the police invitation over alleged terrorism financing and criminal conspiracy.
He was accompanied back to the Labour House at about 11:30 am by the Deputy Lead Counsel, Maxwell Opara from the Falana & Falana’s Chambers and other lawyers.
Upon returning to the Labour House, Ajaero spoke to newsmen and declared that he would never be intimidated by the Federal government.
The Labour leader noted that the struggle for a better life for workers in Nigeria continues as he is not deterred by the allegations against him.
He also noted that he would never relent but would continue in the fight for better welfare of workers and the implementation of the newly approved N70,000 minimum wage.
