President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the party is capable of driving national progress and contributing to Africa’s development.
Speaking at the APC Caucus meeting held at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, Tinubu assured party members of his commitment to the Renewed Hope Manifesto.
He said Nigeria has the potential to lead Africa’s transformation and called for efforts to achieve food sovereignty rather than just food security.
News About Nigeria reports that the president acknowledged the challenges posed by some policies but maintained that they were necessary to secure the country’s future.
He defended the removal of fuel subsidies, arguing that retaining them would have harmed the economy and prevented key government interventions.
Despite criticism from opponents, Tinubu insisted that his administration remained focused on delivering results.
He urged APC members to support his government’s agenda, promising that efforts were underway to reposition the country for growth.
“We can steer the future of this country and make a difference. I like what is happening around the world.
“It is teaching a lesson that we, particularly Nigeria, is a great African country that can build and help Africa to grow.
“I am a very happy man; the sunny side of this country is on the horizon. Things are getting better; the days of gloom are gone.
”We are looking at the brighter and sunnier side of our country and our people.”
Tinubu also commended APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje for leading the party successfully, particularly in recent elections.
