Fire Breaks Out On Lagos Blue Line Rail Track

The Federal Government has appropriated N146.14 billion for the development of the Lagos Green Line Rail Project to ease traffic in the commercial city.

According to the statement made available to the press, the rail line is a 68-kilometer long and it will connect Victoria Island, Lekki, and Ajah and provide Lagosians with a fast, reliable, and affordable transportation option.

Once completed, the Green Line Rail Project will help address traffic congestion in the listed areas and offer succor to the existing lines, News About Nigeria reports.

“This initiative aligns with our vision for sustainable urban transport and underscores our commitment to easing the transportation woes of Lagos residents,” the Federal Government stated in a recent announcement.

The project, which has been in the work for several years, is expected to reduce travel time and ease the pressure on the overused Nigerian roads.

“The Lagos Green Line is part of our broader plan to modernize transportation infrastructure across Nigeria,” the Federal Government stated.

These infrastructural investments are key to long-term growth and development of the nation.

The Lagos Green Line rail system is expected to revolutionize public transportation in the city, helping to alleviate the traffic gridlocks that have become synonymous with Africa’s most populous city.
