The Governor of Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, has shut down the Obada Grammar School, Obada, Idi-Emi, over the death of an SS2 student of the school, Monday Arijo, News About Nigeria reports.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Lekan Adeniran, on Tuesday.

The closure of the school comes after the teacher, allegedly responsible for the death of the student on Friday last week as a result of corporal punishment, was arrested and suspended.
