Bandits Disrupt Jummat Prayers In Katsina

Armed bandits invaded Dan-Ali, a community in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, disrupting Jummat prayers in several mosques, causing chaos and panic among worshippers, News About Nigeria reports.

According to sources, the heavily armed attackers stormed the area during Friday prayers, firing sporadically, forcing people to flee for safety.

“We were at the Jummat prayer when we heard gunshots, and everyone ran. We couldn’t complete our prayers,” a local resident recounted.

He credited the local Security Watch Corps for swiftly responding to the attack, chasing the bandits away.

However, the resident, who wished to remain anonymous, emphasised the urgent need for reinforcement in the area.

“The bandits have been making life unbearable for us. For over a week, they have prevented farmers from accessing their lands, and many have been kidnapped.”

The affected areas include Dan-Ali and nearby communities like Gwarjo, Dangane, Tudun, Tasha Kadanya, and Tasha Biri, where the bandits have maintained a strong presence.
