The Federal Government has announced Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, News About Nigeria reports.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a statement shared on Friday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister extended his congratulations to the Muslim community in Nigeria and abroad.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo called on Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.
He also urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion as a time for prayers, seeking peace, prosperity, and unity for the nation.
