Police Confirm Arrest Of Suspects Connected To Murder Of 21-Year-Old Final-Year Student

The Lagos State Police Command, has arrested a woman, identified as Fatimo Agboke, for allegedly stabbing her neighbor’s son, Faroul Azeez, to death in the Ijegun area of Lagos State, News About Nigeria reports. 

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

He noted that the unfortunate incident had happened on the 9th of September 2024, when the 19 year old suspect had stabbed the 20 year old boy fatally during a confrontation.

According to him, during the fight, the suspect had grabbed a broken bottle and stabbed the victim in the neck, resulting in Azeez’s death.

He further disclosed that attempts to save the victim’s life had been futile as he died on the way to the hospital, adding that the body has been deposited in the hospital for an autopsy.

Hundeyin however noted that investigation has commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the suspect remains in detention.

He said, “On September 9, 2024, a complaint was received from the Ijegun area of the state, reported at Isheri-Oshun Division by a man that a neighbour had an argument with his son.

“The victim was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck by Agboke, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He gave up the ghost during an attempt to rush to a hospital for medical attention.

“The division raced to the scene where the lifeless body of the deceased was seen on the ground, facing up in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy.”
