Crossdresser Found Dead In Abuja Identified - Police 

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the death of a well-known crossdresser, popularly referred to as ‘Abuja Area Mama’, whose lifeless body was discovered in a public area of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday morning.

News About Nigeria reports that the news has ignited a wave of grief and shock across social media, where fans and followers have been paying tribute to the late figure.

In an official statement released on Thursday afternoon, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, detailed the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

According to the statement, a distress call was received around 7:40 AM, reporting that an unidentified person was found lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi expressway. 

Police officers dispatched to the scene found the deceased dressed in female clothing, with no identification on the body.

His body was taken to Maitama District Hospital, where doctors confirmed the death.

“In response to a distress call received by the Command Control Room on 08/08/2024 at about 07:40 AM, that an unidentified lady was seen lying motionless along Katampe – Mabushi expressway, a team of detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual was a man fully dressed in female clothing with no means of identification on him. He was immediately taken to Maitama District Hospital where Doctors on duty confirmed him dead. “

The death of ‘Abuja Area Mama’ comes just days after the release of another high-profile crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, who had been imprisoned for six months for defacing the Nigerian currency.
