Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Oppose Planned Protest

The Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA) has opposed the idea of the planned protest scheduled to begin across states of the federation from the 1st of August 2024, News About Nigeria reports.

The Chairman of the Association and Vision Pioneer Throneroom Trust Ministry Kafanchan, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, disclosed this in an interview after a special Thanksgiving Service for elected and appointed officers from Southern Kaduna by the Association in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria, Southern Kaduna Zone held in Kafanchan.

He noted that even though the region and other parts of the country are experiencing harsh economic realities including hardship, and hunger, among others, it is not wise to join a protest that might be hijacked by enemies of Nigeria to cause a crisis that will jeopardise the healing process in the land.

He appealed to the youths of the State not to participate in the planned nationwide protest, rather, this should allow total healing of the land after suffering several attacks in the recent past.

He urged the people to give the government more time to fix the decay caused by past administrations, adding that the current government at the Federal and State levels has started giving the people of Southern Kaduna hope and inclusivity in appointment and project execution.

“We invited you here today to pray for you and to chart a new path on how we can bring our people together so that we can align our goals, hopes, and aspirations to the objectives of the modern-day politics which you are already actively involved in.”

“We are worried about the disunity that exists among you the political elite; a problem which we see as scandalous and has hampered the growth of our people. Our desire in this Service of Thanksgiving is to bless and entrust you into the hands of God for divine direction on how to manage these differences amongst yourselves and the political parties in Southern Kaduna,” he stated.
