Russia: Death Toll Rises to 115 In Moscow Concert Hall Terrorist Attack

The death toll from Friday night’s terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall on the outskirts of Moscow has surged to at least 115, including three children, according to Russia’s Investigative Committee.

Reports indicate that 121 victims have been hospitalised, with approximately 60 of them, including a small number of children, listed in ‘serious’ or ‘extremely serious’ condition.

News About Nigeria gathered that the Ministry of Health in Russia has released the identities of 41 confirmed dead thus far.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has disclosed that it arrested 11 suspects in connection with the Crocus City Hall terror attack, including four people who directly participated in the assault.

The FSB stated that the suspects were apprehended while attempting to flee towards the Russia-Ukraine border and notified President Vladimir Putin of the developments.

While Ukrainian officials deny involvement, leading politicians in Russia have accused Ukraine of complicity in the attack.

Meanwhile, the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the assault, without presenting any evidence to support its claim.

State-owned media outlet Tass wrote on its Telegram channel, “11 people involved in the crime were detained, including four direct perpetrators. They were found on the way to the border with Ukraine, where, according to security officials, they “had relevant contacts.”

“One of the detainees said that he committed a crime “for money, about 500,000 rubles (£4,300 / €5,000 / $5,400)”. He said he had been contacted on Telegram and provided him with weapons;

“Security measures have been strengthened in Moscow and the regions, mass events have been cancelled. Foreign countries, including unfriendly ones, condemned the terrorist attack and expressed condolences.
