Police Kill One, Arrest Three Other Robbers In Anambra

Choir members of the Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Oke Igan, Akure, Ondo state, who were abducted a week ago, have regained their freedom.

News About Nigeria gathered that ransom was paid before they were released by their abductors.

The kidnappers had demanded N50 million ransom for the release of the remaining 17 victims after eight of the 25 abducted narrowly escaped from the kidnappers’ den last week Saturday.

However, the remaining church members were released late Thursday night after ransom, though the amount paid was not released.

Choir members of the church were abducted along the Ifon-Benin road on their way to a funeral ceremony.

Speaking on their abduction during a visit to the church, the leadership of the state House of Assembly led by the deputy speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Akinruntan, said the incident was unfortunate.

According to him, there is a strict law in place against kidnappers in the state and it must be strengthened in order to safeguard the lives and properties of the people of Ondo State.

He also noted that the House would liaise with the security agencies to ensure that maximum security is being put in place along the road so that people travelling in and out of the state can travel safely.
