EPL: Rice, Trossard, Others In Contention Ahead Of Bournemouth Clash

Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta is troubled about some of his key players’ injury worries ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Bournemouth.

The Gunners are uncertain about the availability of Declan Rice, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and William Saliba in the clash this weekend, News About Nigeria gathered.

During a press conference, Arteta provided updates on the injury situation within his squad. He revealed that Declan Rice had not yet trained after their last match, but will ascertain his condition in their training session after the press briefing.

Responding to questions about the conditions of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, Arteta said that none of the players had also participated in training. He further said that Bukayo Saka is also in a similar situation.

On William Saliba who reportedly picked up a knock. Arteta hinted that there are possibilities of he is oukd feature in the game if he shows some fitness during the upcoming training session.

Speaking about Kai Havertz current form at Arsenal, Arteta defended the German midfielder, stating that there are many parts of his game where he is performing well, while the team is trying to help him improve in other parts.

“We’re trying to help him as much as possible, to give him the tools and minutes to exploit his talent.

“There are so many parts of his game that he’s doing exceptionally well and other (parts) that need to keep improving,” Arteta added.

Many Arsenal fans are calling for Havertz to be dropped, as he is yet to contribute a goal or assist in nine appearances in all competitions, with seven of the coming from the Premier League.

The supporters have insisted that Emile Smith Rowe should be given a chance in the starting lineup to prove himself, as Havertz has had his time.
