Nigerian singer and songwriter Iyanya has taken to social media to slam his colleague, Oxlade, over the tribute post he made for the late singer Mohbad, News About Nigeria reports.
In a tweet, Iyanya described Oxlade as ‘fake’.
In his message, Iyanya stated that when someone is fake, they tend to post screenshots of how they have ‘restricted’ or blocked a good person on social media.
He directed these words at Oxlade and reminded him of their past conversation where he warned that one day, the ‘fake’ in him would be exposed for all to see.
“When you are fake, you will post a screenshot of how you “Restricted” a good guy on sm. Told you one day the “fake” in you will be televised,” Iyanya tweeted.
The controversy surrounding Oxlade’s tribute post for Mohbad began when he shared a screenshot of a 2018 message from Mohbad, praising his singing abilities.
Oxlade had apparently ignored the message and had even restricted Mohbad on social media, a fact that didn’t sit well with some fans who accused him of fake love.
In response, Oxlade removed the post and shared another screenshot of a chat between him and the late singer.
Singer Dammy Krane also weighed in on the situation, criticising show promoter Paulo Okoye for not taking action in response to Mohbad’s concerns about his safety before his tragic passing.
Dammy Krane questioned what help Okoye had provided to address those concerns and referred to his statements as ‘medicine after death’.
