Veteran actress Rita Edochie has issued a response to her nephew, Yul Edochie, after he mentioned her in a social media post discussing cyberbullying and the tragic death of singer Mohbad.
News About Nigeria reports that Yul Edochie had taken to Instagram to address the online bullying he faced due to his choice to marry Judy Austin as his second wife.
In his post, Yul drew a parallel between his own experiences of cyberbullying and the harassment faced by Mohbad, who had complained of assault and harassment linked to the Marlian Record Label before his untimely death.
Yul also mentioned his aunt, Rita Edochie, in his post, highlighting her comments about his second marriage.
Rita Edochie, in response, expressed her emotions about being referred to as ‘my own Aunty’ by Yul and mentioned that he seemed to be in an altered state of mind.
Rita directed her comments toward Judy Austin, referring to her as the ‘Drama Devil’ and implying that she had influenced Yul negatively.
Rita vowed to continue addressing the situation until Yul was freed from the metaphorical ‘bottle’ and allowed to return home.
Rita’s response read, in part: “HIS PARTICULAR LINE MADE TEARS DRIP FROM MY EYES, ESPECIALLY THE WORD ‘MY OWN’… GOOD A THING YOU STILL REGARD ME AS YOUR OWN AUNTY…
“MY DEAR SON, YOU ARE NOT THE SUBJECT MATTER, AND THAT IS THE REASON I DON’T TALK ABOUT YOU BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ARE NOT YOURSELF ANYMORE… BUT YOU WILL SURELY GET BACK TO WHOM YOU USED TO BE WHETHER DRAMA DEV!L (Judy Austin) LIKES IT OR NOT.”
Rita Edochie expressed her concerns about Yul’s well-being and the influence of his second wife, Judy Austin, while emphasizing that she would continue to address the situation until Yul was freed from what she referred to as a ‘bottle’.
