Manchester United has unveiled its new third kit, featuring the iconic Red Devil logo, in a promotional video that also marks the return of former player Roy Keane to the club, News About Nigeria reports.

This marks the first time in 50 years that the Red Devil logo has appeared on a United shirt, drawing inspiration from their 1908/09 FA Cup-winning jersey.

In a surprising twist, Roy Keane, who had a tumultuous exit from the club 18 years ago, was at the center of the kit unveiling video.

The video pays homage to Keane’s history with the club and even humorously references his infamous comments about the fans enjoying prawn sandwiches during matches.

The promotional clip features Keane emerging from the shadows to address the United fans while players model the new white and red kit, designed by Adidas.

Keane delivers an inspirational monologue, reminding fans of the significance of being a “Devil” and the expectations associated with wearing the emblem.

The jersey features the Adidas badge, Red Devil logo, kit sponsor Team Viewer, and collar in red, while the shirt and the three Adidas stripes on the shoulder are in white.

Keane’s appearance in the video marks a reconciliation between the former player and the club after his candid criticism of teammates led to his departure years ago.

Social media buzzed with positive comments about the kit’s design and the nostalgic references made in the video. The blend of tradition and modernity in the kit design, coupled with Keane’s presence, has garnered praise from supporters who had long hoped for a reunion with the former player.
