The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a message out to citizens of the country, urging them to be patient despite the economic hardship experienced by many.
The president pleaded with the public to be understanding of the high cost of living through the economic initiatives of his administration.
News About Nigeria reports that the president made this remark on Thursday in the nation’s capital at an audience with the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leaders from the 36 States of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
According to him, the hardships the nation is currently facing would eventually vanish and give way to a more equitable, prosperous and inclusive economy.
The President said, “I make my pledge to the country that no decision will be difficult for this administration to take for the prosperity and unity of this country. Economic reforms could be slow. Be patient a little more.
“I can assure you that I understand the pains you are going through. It’s not easy to get out the monster of over forty years called fuel subsidy.’’
News About Nigeria understands and reports that since the removal of the fuel subsidy two months ago, Nigerians have been facing increased hardship. The prices of food items, goods, and services, including transportation, have all gone up as a result of this removal.
In recent times, the Nigerian economy has experienced several economic shocks, resulting in an increase in the number of Nigerians seeking better opportunities overseas.
