A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Joe Igbokwe has called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into Akwa Okuko’s abduction, News About Nigeria reports.

The popular native doctor whose real name is Chukwudozie Nwangwu from Oba, Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, was kidnapped from his Triple P Hotel on Sunday night.

Two of his personal aides lost their lives during the abduction.

The native doctor’s reputation as one of the strongest in Anambra raised eyebrows as the assailants were able to take him away without much resistance.

The incident has prompted a call for a thorough investigation by APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe, who believed the native doctor may be linked to the rising insecurity issues in the South East region.

Speculation has emerged that he might have connections with various groups linked to insecurity issues in the region, such as IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra), ESN (Eastern Security Network), or UGM (Unknown Gunmen).

In response to this concerning incident,  Igbokwe took to his Facebook page to call on the security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into Akwa Okuko’s abduction and examine any possible links to the ongoing security challenges in the South East, including kidnapping, murder, arson, and looting.

I APPEAL TO THE SECURITY AGENCIES TO INVESTIGATE  Akwa Okuko. HE MAY BE PART OF THE PROBLEM OF INSECURITY IN THE SOUTH EAST: kidnapping, murder, arson, looting etc. HE MAY HAVE A LINK WITH IPOB, ESN, UGM. WE CONDONE A LOT OF NONSENSE IN THE SOUTH EAST”, Igbokwe wrote.
