President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held a meeting with two former APC bigwigs, Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore, News About Nigeria reports.

The private meeting was held on Tuesday, July 25 at Aso Rock Villa.

Abdullahi Adamu was the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress before his resignation while Iyiola Omisore held the position of the national publicity secretary.

They arrived together for the meeting and were seen leaving around 1.30 pm on Tuesday.

Both Adamu and Omisore resigned from their positions a week ago after a meeting of the APC national working committee. Adamu’s removal was influenced by his failure to explain the whereabouts of over N30 billion from the sale of nomination forms.

On the other hand, Omisore faced accusations of mismanaging funds meant for campaigns in Osun state. The resignations led to rumors of trouble within the party, but the APC dismissed these speculations.

Since then, Abubakar Kyari became the acting chairman, and Festus Fuanter took over as the acting national secretary.

There are rumors that President Tinubu prefers Umar Ganduje for the national chairmanship position, while Gboyega Oyetola and Ajibola Basiru are reportedly in the running for the national secretary office.

Adamu stated that he would consult with Tinubu before commenting on his alleged resignation, but there hasn’t been any official communication about the meeting as of now.

Recall that the APC denied it is in crisis following the resignation of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said that reports of the party in crisis are “purely speculative” and the whole leadership of the party is “united in a quest for a more progressive Party.”
