The killing of two thugs in Jalingo, the state capital, has been confirmed by the Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Army.

The 40 thugs, according to the command, were claimed to have attacked a warehouse belonging to one Jugulde early on Saturday morning, News About Nigeria reports.

Along with the warehouse, the thugs were also revealed to have targeted several stores and offices.

They have been seen attacking shops and offices throughout the city of Jalingo, including the Rock FM radio station’s location on Mallam Joda Road.

The Taraba State chapter office of the Maize Farmers Association of Nigeria was also seen to have been targeted by the thugs, whose acts, according to our reporter, were motivated by the current economic situation brought on by the removal of the fuel subsidy.

The treasurer of the maize farmers organization, Aliyu Mijinyawa, showed our reporter around his office but was unable to explain the motives behind the hoodlum’s actions. He claimed one of the office computers was taken by the hoodlums.

The attack was carried out around 12 a.m. today.

He added that the bodies of the killed hoodlums had been transported to the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo for autopsy.

However, before the police could reach the scene of the incident, two of the hoodlums had been killed by soldiers who arrived there before the police,” he added.

The thugs, who were armed with firearms, iron rods, and cutlasses, broke into the warehouse and stole several items, according to the PPRO.
