The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has expressed strong disapproval of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s choice of commissioners in Osun State, pointing out that out of the 24 commissioners, only seven are Muslims while the remaining 17 are Christians, News About Nigeria reports.

In a statement released on Monday, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Executive Director of MURIC, accused Governor Adeleke of showing bias towards Christianity and suggested that he may be secretly affiliated with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

MURIC criticized the allocation of privileges and opportunities in the state, asserting that Muslims are being denied their rightful share while Christians are being excessively favored.

According to the organization, Governor Adeleke’s actions demonstrate a lack of integrity and honor, instead revealing a proclivity for infamy and partiality.

Akintola further claimed that the governor’s intention is to perpetuate the marginalization, mistreatment, and oppression of Muslims in Osun State.

According to him, Adeleke is acting as an undercover agent for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), working in secrecy to further the interests of the Christian community.

However, Akintola assured that the situation will not persist indefinitely, emphasizing that time will expose Governor Adeleke’s motives.

He likened the governor to a character from the famous James Bond series, insinuating that Adeleke’s deceptive tactics will eventually be revealed.

Akintola also criticized the few Muslims who are collaborating with the governor, accusing them of sacrificing their principles for personal gain.

Akintola stressed that true and lasting leadership is built on principles of honesty and transparency.

He implied that Governor Adeleke’s alleged deception and favoritism towards Christians are contradictory to the qualities required for effective governance.
