In a surprising turn of events, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, has called for an emergency meeting with the National Working Committee (NWC) and State chairmen from all across Nigeria.

News About Nigeria reports that the meeting, which commenced at approximately 1:45 pm, brought together Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, the Borno Chairman, along with 31 other state chairmen.

During the gathering, Adamu addressed the grassroots leaders, highlighting the purpose of the meeting.

He emphasized that it was essential to inform them about the recent activities of the party, as well as provide updates on the postponed National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.

Notably, the previously scheduled NEC meeting, which was supposed to take place on Monday, has been rescheduled to July 18 and 19.

The decision to postpone the NEC meeting was made in light of President Bola Ahmed’s absence.

President Ahmed is currently attending the ECOWAS summit in Guinea Bissau.

Tinubu emerged victorious in his bid for the chairmanship of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The election took place during the 63rd Ordinary Session of the regional bloc, held on Sunday afternoon in the capital city of Guinea-Bissau, Bissau.

The APC leadership deemed it appropriate to honour his commitment to the regional summit by deferring the NEC meeting to a later date.

The emergency meeting holds significant importance as it allows party leaders to strategize and discuss critical matters concerning the APC.
