Gov Adeleke’s commissioner nominations stir up Controversy, News About Nigeria reports.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied allegations that he included his daughter and uncle in the list of commissioner nominees submitted to the State House of Assembly for approval.

In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor dismissed the reports as false.

He clarified that Adenike Folasade Adeleke is not his daughter but the daughter of Chief Omidiran of Osogbo Land and the late Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

Similarly, he explained that Prof Maroof Adeleke, who is from Osogbo, is not his uncle.

It reads; “The attention of Governor Ademola Adeleke has been drawn to fake news alleging that the state chief executive has appointed his supposed daughter in the person of Adenike Folasade Adeleke and his alleged uncle, Prof Maroof Adeleke into the State cabinet.

He also urged the public to disregard the false information, emphasizing that the Governor is committed to fair distribution of appointments based on competence, representation, and diversity across sectors.

The Governor’s spokesperson also called on those behind the spread of the misinformation to engage in responsible journalism and conduct proper investigations before disseminating news.

He hinted at the possibility of a malicious motive behind the fake news, aimed at tarnishing the Governor’s reputation.

As the controversy unfolds, Governor Adeleke remains steadfast in his commitment to transparent governance and maintaining the integrity of his administration.
