Adamu Garba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to the launch of a new social media platform called Threads.

Within hours of its launch, Threads, owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), gained over 10 million users, including Nigerians.

News About Nigeria confirms that the surge in sign-ups on Threads was attributed to the recent implementation of stricter measures by Elon Musk on Twitter.

Notable Nigerian and international celebrities, media outlets, and public figures have already established active accounts on the platform.

In response to this development, Adamu Garba, who also owns a digital platform called Crowwe, expressed his lack of concern about Threads’ launch.

The former presidential aspirant confidently stated that Nigeria will soon enter the global market space with Crowwe.

He wrote: “Let them thread or Tweet, we don’t mind. The market is large enough for all of us. All I know is that Nigeria will soon join the global platform market space with Crowwe…..in just few days!”

The emergence of new social media platforms offers users alternative options for communication and content sharing. As more individuals explore these platforms, competition in the social media market continues to grow.

Users are likely to benefit from increased choices, while platform owners strive to provide unique features and experiences to attract and retain users.

Threads is a new app from Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp’s parent corporation. The network resembles Twitter in appearance, with a feed of mostly text-based updates — but users may also publish photographs and videos — where individuals can engage in real-time discussions.

Meta said that posts sent to Threads would be limited to 500 characters. Users may respond to, repost, and quote other people’s Threads postings in the same way as they do on Twitter. However, the app incorporates Instagram’s current design and navigation mechanism, as well as the option to share Threads content straight to Instagram Stories.

Thread accounts may be set to be public or private. Threads automatically verify genuine Instagram accounts.
