The pursuit of Mason Mount by Manchester United is showing no signs of slowing down as the club prepares its third bid, News About Nigeria reports.
Since the start of the summer transfer window, Manchester United has been the sole club expressing interest in signing Mason Mount, the talented forward from Chelsea. However, the Blues have rejected the initial two offers made by the Ten Hags team.
The West London side is demanding an amount in the area of £65m to release the player who is head bent on leaving the club, after failed negotiation with Chelsea on his wages.
Manchester United’s opening bid of approximately £40 million, as well as their most recent bid estimated at around £50 million, have both been turned down by Chelsea.
The club is now preparing a third and final bid for the English midfielder, which reportedly exceeds £55 million, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
He wrote; “Manchester United are set to submit a third official bid in excess of £55m for Mason Mount. #MUFC,” stating that “Sources feel this is going to be the final proposal after two bids rejected in the recent weeks.”
Romano continued; “Man Utd want quick resolution — also, 100% agreed personal terms. More to follow.”
Meanwhile. Mount’s trainer has dropped a hint about the Chelsea midfielder’s future in a post on Instagram.
Jamesmcfitness as called on social media, is hoping that Mount joins Manchester United this summer.
“Hopefully we get to see him winning games for United next season,” he wrote.
It is not clear if he has an inside insight or not but this has further increased speculations following the newly prosed bid made by Man United for the 24-year-old.
