President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has given his approval to The Student Loan Bill, a newly enacted law that aims to provide interest-free loans to financially disadvantaged Nigerian students, News About Nigeria reports.

During his campaign, President Tinubu made a commitment to grant student loans as part of his initiatives to enhance the education sector and foster youth development.

The announcement was made by President Tinubu during a speech at the British Royal Institute in London.

Emphasizing the importance of the younger generation, he expressed his belief that the youth are the most valuable resource for the future.

He further affirmed his commitment to an “all-inclusive” government, exemplifying this by pointing to the efforts of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

President Tinubu outlined his vision to transform the education system, stating that it would undergo a comprehensive overhaul with specific attention given to areas in need of improvement.

He declared that no one would be left behind and mentioned the implementation of student loans as one of the proposed changes.

In addition to this, he expressed his intention to reform the Almajiri system, construct additional schools, and augment the number of qualified teachers through comprehensive training programs.
