Traffic Diversion

The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan for the upcoming post-inaugural programme at Agege Stadium.

News About Nigeria reports that motorists coming from Oba Akran are advised to take an alternate route through Pero to Otubu, passing via Mosholashi Alhaja to Pen-Cinema, in order to continue their journeys.

Attendees of the event will be redirected to Showonuola Street, off Alhaja One on Ogba Road, and from there they can connect to Oshitelu Street, which leads to the Stadium.

Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, stated that Wemco Road inwards Marketing on Ogba-Ijaye Road will also be accessible for those attending the event and wishing to reach Agege Stadium.

Furthermore, drivers who are approaching from Ogba, Wemco, and Akilo roads have the option to travel along Oba Ogunji road towards Moshalasi Alhaja by using Balogun Road (Maternity) to complete the rest of their trips.

Another option is to follow the diversion through Shobowale Street off Akilo Road to connect to the Stadium.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other traffic enforcement personnel have been instructed to effectively manage and control the traffic situation.

Motorists are strongly urged to cooperate with this travel advisory in order to prevent unnecessary delays in their travel time.

By implementing alternative routes and redirecting traffic, the government aims to minimize congestion and ensure the safety and convenience of both attendees and other road users.

The specific routes and streets mentioned in the statement provide alternative paths for motorists to reach their destinations without being affected by the event-related traffic.
