Tinubu and Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday accompanied President-elect Bola Tinubu on a visit to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

News About Nigeria reports that the visit served as a familiarization tour for Tinubu, allowing him to become acquainted with the premises and facilities.

The two leaders arrived at the Press Gallery around 1:18 pm after attending the Jummah Prayers at the Aso Villa Mosque.

During the tour, President Buhari introduced Tinubu to the Press Gallery, emphasizing its significance as the designated space for interacting with members of the press.

This gesture highlights the importance of open communication and transparency in the government’s relationship with the media.

Notably, this visit follows closely on the heels of an event held the previous day, where President Buhari bestowed the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger on Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima.

The ceremony took place at the State House Banquet Hall and underscored the government’s recognition of Shettima’s contributions.

Continuing the trend of familiarization tours, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo accompanied Shettima on a visit to the VP Wing of the State House on Thursday.

This tour allowed Shettima to acquaint himself with the specific area where the Vice President’s office is located, further facilitating a smooth transition of power.

Furthermore, as a sign of their commitment to a seamless transfer of power, both President Buhari and President-elect Tinubu exchanged important documents during their meeting.

This exchange signifies the official handover of responsibilities scheduled for Monday, May 29, 2023.

These recent events highlight the government’s dedication to a smooth and orderly transition of power.

By conducting familiarization tours and exchanging vital documents, the current administration is demonstrating its commitment to ensuring a seamless transfer of authority.
