President Muhammadu Buhari arrived back in Nigeria on Tuesday evening after his trip to the United Kingdom (UK), News About Nigeria reports.

He had traveled to the UK on May 3 to attend the Coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.

Initially, the President was scheduled to return to Abuja within the same week, but he extended his stay for an additional week due to a dental appointment.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, released a statement explaining the reason for President Buhari’s extended stay.

The President’s dentist had requested more time to complete a dental procedure that had already begun.

Therefore, Buhari decided to remain in London for another week to accommodate the dentist’s schedule.

President Buhari’s attendance at the coronation was in line with other world leaders who were present on May 6, 2023, for the momentous occasion.

After spending a significant amount of time in the UK, President Buhari returned to Nigeria on Tuesday afternoon.

His arrival took place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The President’s trip to the UK had been a blend of official duties and personal commitments, as he attended the coronation ceremony while also taking care of his dental health.

It is essential for leaders to strike a balance between personal matters and national responsibilities.

Now that he has returned to Abuja, President Buhari will resume his official duties, focusing on the wrapping up his tenure and preparing to handover to president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29.
