Fire Breaks Out On Lagos Blue Line Rail Track

A minor fire broke out Saturday afternoon on a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the NEPA station by Eko Bridge in the Apogbon area of Lagos.

Gboyega Akosile, spokesperson for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, confirmed the incident, which occurred around 4:12 p.m., saying that no injuries were reported and train service was not in operation at the time.

Emergency personnel responded quickly, successfully extinguishing the fire.

*A team of safety and emergency personnel and other first responders had completely put out the fire,” Akosile posted on social media platform X.

Residents in the area were reassured that the situation was under control, and Akosile advised Lagosians to continue their activities without concern.

Further updates on train operations are expected from the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
