The Presidential Transition Council has categorically denied any association with the fraudulent programme of events that has been circulating widely on social media platforms, News About Nigeria reports.

The false schedule purports to outline the sequence of activities for the impending handover ceremony for the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.

This disavowal was made by Boss Mustapha, the Council’s Chairman and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Mustapha emphasized that preparations for the event have reached an advanced stage, underscoring the commitment to a seamless transition.

A statement released by the Office of the Secretary General of the Federation through its Director of Information, Willie Bassey, provided clarity on the matter.

According to the statement, the Presidential Transition Council is not associated with the fraudulent programme that has been widely circulated on social media.

The Council has made notable progress in organizing the handover ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on May 29, 2023.

The statement also revealed that several authorized events are planned to occur throughout the week commencing May 22, 2023.

To counter the proliferation of misleading information, the official programme of events, which has received formal approval, will be unveiled to the public during a World Press Conference.

This significant announcement is set to take place on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

May 29: We’re Ready For Troublemakers – Military

Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has issued a fresh warning to individuals who are plotting to disrupt the inauguration on May 29.

They have made it clear that they are fully prepared to prevent any threats to the inauguration from materializing.

Major General Musa Danmadami, the Director of Defence Media Operation, emphasized that the military sees no valid reasons why the inauguration should not proceed as planned.

He highlighted that the primary responsibility for internal security lies with the police, while the Armed Forces and other security agencies are there to provide support.

However, he stressed that they are ready and waiting to ensure that nothing undesirable occurs.
