The Senator representing Anambra South, under the Young Progressive Party, YPP, Ifeanyi Ubah, has dumped his party for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, News About Nigeria reports.

Ubah’s defection was made known in a letter directed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, which was publicly read in the Senate Chamber on Thursday.

According to the letter, the Senator, who had been elected for a second term under the YPP, stated that his reason for switching parties was due to the unending disagreements within the party.

He, however, did not explain the irreconcilable differences and disagreements within the party that prompted his decision to leave.

Ubah in the letter also stated that his decision to leave YPP for the ruling APC is in the interest of his constituents.

Before his defection to APC, the Senator was the sole member of the YPP in the 10th Senate.
