Dangote Urges NNPCL To Halt Fuel Imports, Says Refinery Can Meet Nigeria’s Daily Demand

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced that it will refund customers who have bought petrol at prices higher than the advertised rates from its partners, including AP (Ardova Plc), Heyden, and MRS.

This decision comes after the refinery lowered its gantry price from N890 to N825 per litre.

This new price change is part of the refinery’s effort to ensure Nigerians benefit from cheaper fuel, in line with the goals of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The refinery is offering a refund of N65 per litre for the 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS sold at the previous price of N890 per litre before the new rate of N825.

News About Nigeria learnt that the new pricing structure went into effect on February 27, 2025.

The refinery aims to ensure that the reduction is passed on to consumers nationwide.

Dangote also committed to covering the N16 billion loss incurred from refunding the excess payment, reassuring marketers that they will not suffer losses due to the price change.

The refinery also condemned the practice of selling fuel at higher than the approved rates.

Dangote warned that selling PMS above N900 per litre would be seen as exploitative and detrimental to Nigerians.

Consumers who find that they have paid more than the set rates at any of Dangote’s approved distributors—MRS, Heyden, or Ardova—are encouraged to report the overcharge and submit their receipts for a full refund.

The refinery has also provided approved retail prices for various locations in Nigeria.

With the new price at N825 per litre, Dangote has promised that no Nigerian should pay more than N900 per litre, regardless of location.
